Ken Benau

Ken Benau, Ph.D. has a private practice in psychotherapy, consultation, and training in the San Francisco Bay Area. He sees children and adults in individual, couple and family therapy. Dr. Benau enjoys working with adults living with ADHD, various learning differences, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Benau has expertise in applying his understandings of shame and pride in psychotherapy with survivors of relational trauma. He has presented his ideas about shame and pride on podcasts, webinars, and at international conferences on trauma and dissociation. Dr. Benau has written several peer-reviewed articles and his book, Shame, Pride, and Relational Trauma: Concepts and Psychotherapy, was published by Routledge in March, 2022.
