Alan Percy


Alan Percy is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and clinical supervisor (UKCP), former Head of the Counselling Service at the University of Oxford, and former Chair of the Executive Committee for the Heads of University Counselling Services (HUCS). He started his working life in youth and community work in London in the early Eighties and has worked at a wide range of Further and Higher Education Institutions both as a counsellor, lecturer and manager, for over the last 32 years. Alan is a member of the Advisory Panel for the ‘Charlie Waller Trust-Universities and Colleges’ and has been involved in developing suicide prevention strategies at a local and national level. He recently stepped down as Chair of the Mental Wellbeing in Higher Education Expert Working Group (MWBHE/Advance HE) and as a member of the Universities UK Mental Health in Higher Education working group. In 2019 he was appointed Co-President of the Chinese/UK University Counselling Association (CUUCA). He currently works privately offering psychotherapy, clinical supervision and organisational consultation.
