Description

In this brief introduction to Focusing, you will learn how to invite clients to listen to their authentic, embodied sense of any situation. The process, developed by Eugene Gendlin, opens up new ways of experiencing life situations that naturally carries them forward. Dr. Leslie Ellis will guide you through an experience of the basic steps of Focusing. You will leave the session with a clear, embodied sense of this gentle yet powerful process. Clinical application and brief examples will illustrate ways to apply this in practice.

Leslie Ellis, PhD, RCC, is a registered clinical counsellor, teacher and author who lives and works in beautiful Deep Cove, British Columbia. Leslie has in-depth, specialized training in Focusing-oriented therapy, and is expert in its use for treatment of trauma.

A specialist in somatic approaches to therapy, Leslie has studied somatic experiencing, the Hakomi method, and psoma yoga. She has developed a method of embodied, experiential dream work, which combines focusing with Jungian active imagination techniques.
