About the Instructor
Tammy Nelson, PhD, is an internationally renowned psychotherapist, certified sex therapist, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and Imago Certified Relationship Therapist and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Counsellor. She has been a therapist for nearly 30 years and is the executive director of the Integrative Sex Therapy Institute, which she founded to develop courses for psychotherapists given the ever-growing demand for certified sex and couples therapists.
She is the author of several books, including Open Monogamy: A Guide to Co-Creating Your Ideal Relationship Agreement (2021), Integrative Sex & Couples Therapy: A Therapist's Guide to New and Innovative Approaches (2020), The New Monogamy: Redefining Your Relationship After Infidelity (2013), Getting the Sex You Want (2008), and What's Eating You?: A Workbook for Anorexia and Bulimia (2004). She is also a TEDx speaker and host of the podcast The Trouble with Sex.
Whether it is the result of routine family and relationship changes or the discomfort derived from life-changing events, the sexual crisis is prevalent and pushes partners to distance themselves from each other.
As therapists, we have the opportunity to help clients rediscover fulfilling and exciting relationships, both physically and emotionally. But to be effective we need the right training!
Sex and relationships are constantly evolving, and our industry has unfortunately still fallen far behind. That's why we're excited to offer this certification path that provides cutting-edge, hands-on tools that every therapist needs to confidently work with sex and intimate relationships.
Thanks to the LIVE Supervision sessions with Tammy Nelson, you will be able to present clinical cases and learn — for your clinical practice — how to integrate new techniques and strategies into your treatment model, so as to better work with individuals and couples and their sexual and relational problems.
In this course, you will have access to clinical demonstrations and experiential learning sessions covering sexual crises, infidelity, shame, changing cultural and gender roles, redefining monogamy, body image issues, trauma, sexual dysfunction, and much more.
The course also issues the international Evergreen Certification “Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP)”.
