Senior Counsellor

Galop run a free counselling service for LGBT+ survivors of abuse and
violence. The service is staffed by a mix of employed and freelance
counsellors and psychotherapists.

The service works to address the barriers to counselling that some LGBT+
people experience and provides a safe, confidential and affirmative
service for our clients.

We are looking for an experienced service manager to support and
develop the counselling service. You will play a key role in ensuring high
quality provision and performance and strategic development of our
therapeutic services. This role will hold responsibility for ensuring the
operations and systems (for example room bookings, waiting list,
referrals) that the service requires are efficient and client centred.
You will be responsible for data analysis, management and reporting to
internal colleagues and funders.

You will work with service users, the team and senior managers to identify
service gaps and create strategic plans for therapeutic direction. You will
work with colleagues to secure funding for new services and represent the
service at external meetings as required.

You will hold responsibility for risk management across the service and
work with Galop colleagues to ensure high quality counselling provision.
You will ensure policies, procedures and practice stay in line with national
best practice and guidance.

You should have experience working in the voluntary sector and have a
strong knowledge of how counselling interacts with other voluntary sector
services, safeguarding practices and criminal justice frameworks.
