As our new peripatetic project practitioner, you will be required to provide high quality services in schools in situations such as new school set up, School Based Staff long and short-term absences, and extra short-term support as deemed appropriate by the Area Manager.
Hours: 14 hrs p/w

You will effectively manage all aspects of the Place2Be school project in partnership with the school, ensuring that the children and young people are provided with the right therapeutic and emotional support they need to manage a range of life issues.
Conduct a full Assessment and Formulation process for children and young people referred to the service and allocate them to a suitable targeted intervention where appropriate
Undertake one-to-one clinical work with children and/or young people
Plan and deliver Place2Talk self-referral drop in
build, develop and maintain effective professional relationships with the Head teacher, school leadership team and wider school community to deliver Place2Be’s model of counselling and therapeutic support
Identify and discuss potential referrals with school staff keeping the line manager informed
Identify and report any safeguarding and child protection concerns following Place2Be’s policies and procedures
The successful candidate:
Will have a recognised counselling or therapy qualification with substantial post-qualifying experience, along with a good knowledge of the school environment. Hold a recognised clinical qualification (in counselling, psychotherapy, clinical psychology, Art/Dance/Drama/Music Therapy)
Hold recognised membership of a relevant professional body(BACP/ PTUK/ UKCP/NCS/BPS)
Post qualified experience in a clinical role and an understanding of children and young people
Understand how schools work in partnership with clinical practitioners and the importance of these relationship
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of embedding Assessment and Formulation in clinical practice
Undertake work with parents, carers and school staff and to hold a clinical caseload with children or young people
provide clinical and managerial supervision to trainee Counsellors on Placement and to ensure their integration into the school environment
