City Hospice is the only specialist palliative care provider for the city of Cardiff. We help over 1,000 patients plus their families and all our services are provided free of charge. As a Charity we need to raise a total of £2m each year to continue to provide our specialist services.
Do you want to be part of a Charity that is at the heart of Cardiff? If so, we currently have a vacancy for a Counselling Manager based at our Hospice in Whitchurch.
The successful applicant will be required to identify appropriate opportunities to develop and lead the Counselling service, providing strong leadership and ensure the delivery of counselling and bereavement support in line with the strategic objectives of the Charity.
Applicants will have experience of managing a very busy service with the department providing support for approximately 120 clients a month. As well as managing a team of counsellors you will be responsible for a small caseload of clients and have an excellent working knowledge of assessment frameworks, models of grief and bereavement and the range of issues affecting bereaved clients.
The successful candidate will need to ensure the highest possible standards of care in line with the appropriate ethical frameworks and work closely with other members of the multi- disciplinary team.
