Mental Health Advisor

Mental Health Advisor at University of Bath Counselling and Mental Health Service.

You will hold current professional registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC and possess extensive experience. You will provide comprehensive mental health assessments for students experiencing a range of mental health and emotional difficulties, including students presenting with mental health crises and those with significant risk, and will work collaboratively with students and other stakeholders to develop appropriate plans for care and treatment, including signposting, onwards referrals and liaison with other University departments and external agencies. As an experienced clinician, you will have excellent demonstrable skills in assessing risk and developing robust and collaborative risk management plans, including the use of positive risk-taking where appropriate. You will be confident to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and will have extensive experience in assessing and working with clients with varied mental health conditions.

The successful applicants will possess a good understanding of the support requirements for students in higher education and the issues facing this population. You will be an exceptional communicator with a proven track record in finding innovative solutions to complex problems, who values team working whilst also being confident to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.  HE experience would be an advantage but not essential as a comprehensive induction will be provided.

The post is offered on a part-time, term time basis and will involve flexible working between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday-Friday.
