When you started to train as a therapist is it likely that you were focused on working with clients and patients. During training you will have been practising your clinical skills. But, now you are qualified, or nearing qualification, the reality of working begins to loom. Most therapists set up in private practice, as well as doing some organisational work. For some of us, the thought of setting up a business can be scary. After all, it isn’t why you started out on this path. This workshop with Paul Silver-Myer is for you if you would like to learn more about the practical business of therapy from an accountant who understands what it means to be a therapist. The workshop is business focused on money issues and tax. This workshop will provide you with information about how to set yourself up in business as a therapist; to know what expenses can be claimed; and to share experiences of setting fees, making a profit, and how to recover bad debts.
