An important function of psychotherapy is to increase the capacity of patients to read their own affective and intentional states and those of others who are important to them.
This talk will summarise arguments over the 70 year history of Tavistock Relationships for couples to be seen by two therapists, updating and illustrating these in the light of research on the developmental significance of co-parenting. Some thoughts on the supervisory relationships will be offered.
