(London) Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder

How do we understand the growing problem of compulsive sexual behaviours? This lecture with Paula Hall will provide an up to date overview of Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder (CSBD) which is currently being proposed for inclusion in ICD in 2019 and help attendees to understand the treatment process of compulsive sexual behaviours. In this lecture Paula will provide a bio-psycho-social perspective to enable attendees to understand the neuroscience of addiction as well as the influence of attachment and trauma on the development of the problem. The role of technology will also be explored along with societies changing views of sexual expression. The CHOICE Recovery Model will be used to explain the complexities of helping clients overcome CSBD and to provide a treatment strategy. The impact on both developing and maintaining primary attachment bonds and sexual functioning will also be provided.
